About the role
The Birmingham-based Trusts, Estates and Tax (TET) team, led by Director, Hannah Turner, is now seeking a Senior Associate‑level lawyer who is circa 3–7 PQE. The team advises high and ultra‑high net worth clients in a wide variety of trust, estate and tax planning matters and works closely with the wider national TET team whose combined services include acting as independent administrators in high‑net‑worth contested estates, advising on complex mental capacity issues, administering cross‑border estates and advising agricultural clients. The team is part of the firm’s extensive Private Client Services offering and also supports the wider firm, for example as part of our Private Wealth Initiative which brings together a variety of specialist teams including Corporate, Corporate Tax, Agricultural Property and Family to build holistic, solution‑driven advice for business owner clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop professionally, working on high‑quality instructions alongside leaders in their respective fields.
- Take on supervisory responsibilities and engage in business development activities supported and encouraged by the firm.
Hiring qualifications and skills
- Directly relevant previous experience and correct level of post qualified experience (PQE) (3–7 years) for the role.
- Experience in TET services including administration of trusts.
- Proven track record of competent financial management, ability to meet client expectations and sound case management skills.
- Good IT skills, experience, and confidence with using case management systems, electronic time recording and general Microsoft packages.
- Self‑starting, friendly individual with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to take initiative.
- Consistently demonstrates and embodies the firm’s values.
