?? YARD KEY OPERATIVE – Carn Hatchery
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday & Friday
Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a proactive and reliable Key Operative to support the smooth running of our Hatchery. This is a hands-on role with leadership responsibilities, offering variety across key areas including supervision, egg handling, chick despatch, and quality control.
The Key Operative works as a member of a team of hatchery operatives, reporting to the management team. Effective liaison, team working and interaction with other operatives and supervisory staff is essential
Competencies, Knowledge and Experience required:
- Must be literate and numerate.
- Must be able to think clearly.
- Must be able to work as a team member.
- Must have a positive attitude to work and others
- Good manual dexterity is essential.
- Good level of English is essential
- Good time keeping is essential
- Basic Computer literacy is beneficial
- Previous hatchery experience is desirable.
- Previous supervisory/people management experience is desirable.
- Good communication skills are essential.
- The ability to work on own initiative is essential
- The ability to organise and prioritise work is essential
- Ability to solve problems essential
- Mechanical aptitude essential
- Positive attitude to work and others is essential.
- Able to undertake responsibility essential
- Evidence of leadership qualities essential
- Awareness of health and safety essential
- Awareness of hygiene is desirable
- Awareness of Animal Welfare is desirable
