We are recruiting an experienced and confident Business Development Manager (Private Services Development Manager) to join the team at Priory. The Service Development Manager plays a crucial part in supporting Priory’s goal of being a leader and provider of choice in the private healthcare market, and enabling easy access to a larger group of prospective patients; both domestic and internationally-based. Alongside the basic salary, there is a commission scheme in place to reward strong performance and success in the role.
The role is hybrid with some remote work however the post holder will be required to be based in either the Bristol or the West Midlands areas due to frequent travel.
The role is full time, working 37.5 hours per week. A full UK driving licence with business motor insurance is required.
What you’ll be doing
The Private Service Development Manager will build and manage strong relationships with private and NHS GPs, psychiatrists, therapists, corporate partners, and international referrers. The role focuses on driving growth in private services by promoting Priory’s full range of offerings, increasing awareness through targeted engagement activity and events, and delivering seamless referral experiences. Acting as the key point of contact for referral partners, the Private Service Development Manager will collaborate closely with admissions, clinical, marketing, and operational teams to ensure exceptional service delivery, while using data, market insight, and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities, diversify referral routes, and support continued commercial growth.
What you’ll bring to the role
You will bring strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in account management or business development, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and drive sustainable growth. Highly organised, self-motivated and collaborative, you will combine excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and identify new opportunities.
- Graduate level or equivalent and a proven track record of account management or business development
- Commercial acumen and ability to focus on the bottom line within all growth initiatives being developed.
- Experience of working with a range of stakeholders, delivering both transactional and consultative sales in order to sell existing services, but also to have the initiative and confidence to explore and develop new opportunities
- Current and full UK driving licence and covered for business use on your motor insurance
