Position Overview
As a Principal Product Manager at Diligent, you will own your own product roadmap and drive the solution in the right direction by identifying market and customer needs and opportunities. You will be in direct contact with our customers to understand their needs, bring in market insights and data, and communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure the right vision is achieved for individual solutions. This is a cross-functional role, delivering impactful solutions on our Diligent Platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the product roadmap for your solution, through understanding customer needs and evaluating, curating and ruthlessly prioritizing new ideas.
- Develop and implement the product strategy that align to the company vision and strategy.
- Be the voice of the customer in our product team, by clearly communicating and sharing insights about our customers and how we can get their jobs done better.
- Engage with customers for discovery and validation of new solution capabilities.
- Manage your solution backlog, writing user stories and collaborating with the team on design.
- Collaborate cross functionally with UX, Engineering, Product Marketing, Sales and Customer Success teams to build and launch products to market.
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the business domain, applying problem-solving skills to address critical and complex issues to ensure the product evolves to make our customers successful at their jobs.
- Track product performance, user engagement, and outcomes.
Required Experience / Skills
- Sets product strategy (increased scope)
- 3-5 years domain and market expertise in line with increased scope
- Good product knowledge in multiple domain areas along with SME in a specific domain
- Experience as a Product Manager, preferably with SaaS experience.
- Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong business acumen.
- Understanding of the entire software development lifecycle and are experienced in agile cross-functional environments and being a part of autonomous teams.
- Ability to talk to customers, prospects discussing product and business strategy and do not hesitate to get jump in and get the job done.
- Demonstrated proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Data-oriented mindset and you are passionate about user and performance metrics.
- Demonstrates a strong ability to define and measure success.
- Experience in using product management software (e.g. Aha!) and best practices.
- Experience in using process (e.g. Confluence) and workflow software (e.g. JIRA) and best practices.

Headquartered in New York, Diligent has offices in Washington D.C., London, Galway, Budapest, Vancouver, Bengaluru, Munich, Singapore and Sydney. To foster strong collaboration and connection, this role will follow a hybrid work model. If you are within a commuting distance to one of our Diligent office locations, you will be expected to work onsite at least 50% of the time.
