Data Lead / Data Architect (Snowflake) – Contract

Az-Tec Talent is supporting a consultancy client with an urgent requirement for a Data Lead / Data Architect to support a growing organisation in stabilising and scaling its data capability.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining elements of both Data Architecture and Data Leadership, working closely with a Software Architect to shape the future data platform.
The engagement will focus on transforming an evolving data landscape into a scalable, governed, and insight-driven environment, with a strong emphasis on Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the refinement and redesign of the current data architecture
- Establish a single source of truth across data platforms
- Assess and rationalise an existing Snowflake environment, addressing legacy structures and improving visibility
- Define and implement data governance frameworks, standards, and controls
- Collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams to align data and platform strategies
- Enable scalable data capabilities to support business growth and increased data volumes
- Support integration and enrichment of external data sources for improved analytics and insights
Required Experience
- Strong experience as a Data Lead, Data Architect, or similar senior data role
- Proven experience working with Snowflake in complex or legacy environments
- Experience defining and implementing data architecture and data governance frameworks
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data pipelines, and modern data platforms
- Ability to assess, simplify, and optimise existing data landscapes
- Experience working in fast-paced or scaling organisations
