We are looking for a Senior FPGA Development Engineer to join a high‑performing engineering team working on advanced FPGA solutions across multiple technology domains.

The Role

As a Senior FPGA Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing FPGA‑based solutions across a range of complex and innovative technology areas, including:

Radio Frequency and Optical CommunicationsRADAR and Electronic WarfareGlobal Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)Cyber and Crypto‑SecurityYou will work across the full project lifecycle, developing solutions from early proof‑of‑concept demonstrators through to fully qualified production systems.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of the development and delivery of complex FPGA designs from inception to deploymentCapture and manage requirements, develop system architectures, and produce detailed designsImplement, verify, validate, and document FPGA solutionsCollaborate closely with multi‑disciplinary project teams and stakeholdersDeliver high‑quality solutions to agreed timescales, cost, and technical performance standardsContribute to continuous technical improvement and innovation across projects

Essential Experience

Proven track record in developing complex FPGA‑based systems, including design, implementation, verification, and validationExperience working with domain experts to define conceptual system solutions and translate them into efficient FPGA implementationsStrong knowledge of System on Chip (SoC) designs, including configuration and integrationExperience working with soft and hard core CPUs such as Zynq, Microblaze, ARM, or RISC‑VFamiliarity with standard buses and interconnects such as AXI, AHB, or WishboneAbility to specify and integrate software interfaces alongside FPGA designs

Essential Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a closely related discipline

Security & Eligibility

Sole UK Nationals OnlyEligibility to obtain and maintain high‑level UK security clearance is essential for this role

Working Arrangements

Full‑time position (37 hours per week)Hybrid working available
