Senior Public Affairs Manager – UK & Ireland
The Advocate Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading global FMCG business to recruit a Senior Public Affairs Manager.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-profile organisation where you’ll shape and lead public affairs strategy across the UK & Ireland, influencing key policy discussions and strengthening external reputation.
The role
You will lead the development and delivery of a proactive public affairs strategy, building strong relationships with government, policymakers, NGOs, and industry bodies. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you’ll ensure the business is effectively represented across key regulatory and policy areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading government relations activity across the UK & Ireland
- Shaping strategy on key policy areas including health, sustainability, and responsible marketing
- Managing high-profile and complex issues such as trade policy, labour access, and responsible consumption
- Supporting crisis and issue management with clear, strategic guidance
- Partnering with Corporate Communications to deliver consistent external messaging
- Preparing briefings and materials for senior leadership engagement
About you
- Proven experience in Public Affairs within a complex, regulated environment
- Strong understanding of the UK & Ireland political and regulatory landscape
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level
- Confident translating complex policy into clear, commercial insights
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- FMCG or similarly fast-paced sector experience is advantageous
