Are you ready to lead a transformation in social care? Oxfordshire County Council is seeking a dynamic, forward‑thinking individual to become the CQC Registered Team Manager for our Shared Lives Scheme. The Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) Shared Lives Scheme matches individuals needing support with approved carers, enabling them to live as part of the carers household or visit for support, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Main Duties of the Job
As manager, you will drive the strategic development and growth of the service, ensuring regulatory compliance and working collaboratively across Adult Social Care and partner agencies. Your leadership will help build strong communities and deliver real, lasting impact for the people we serve now and into the future while ensuring value for money.
Responsibilities
You will ensure the Shared Lives Scheme meets all requirements of the Health and Social Care Act (2008) and other relevant legislation and guidance, provide personalised information and advice to individuals, families, and carers, and ensure the team meets all professional standards. You will also:
- Empower people to identify their strengths and desired outcomes, embracing new ideas to improve and maintain independence.
- Use a strengths‑based approach to promote wellbeing and help people achieve their goals.
- Support people and carers to ensure their voices are heard, including through advocacy.
- Manage staff in line with council policies and procedures, handling caseload and staffing issues appropriately, and providing specialist advice in line with evolving best practice.
- Champion evidence‑based practice and stay up to date with developments (Care Quality Commission, Shared Lives Plus, RiPFA, SCIE, DoH).
About the Role and Team
Work location: Various locations across Oxfordshire. A combination of remote, face‑to‑face and office‑based working is expected depending on the needs of the people supported. Registered office is Abbey Centre, Audlett Drive, Abingdon.
Vetting requirements: This role is subject to a Criminal Records Check.

You are an experienced Social Care professional with proven management experience, driven to do things differently and find creative solutions with people, not just for them. You are a self‑leader, passionate about promoting peoples strengths, kind and caring, and an advocate for equality and integrity. You are committed to ongoing professional development and upholding the highest professional standards.
