Role Description The Air Conditioning Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Brentwood. The engineer will install, maintain, and repair air conditioning and HVAC systems across commercial and residential client sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing faults, carrying out routine planned preventive maintenance, completing reactive repairs, and performing system tests and inspections. The role involves working from job sheets and service contracts, updating service records, and communicating clearly with clients and colleagues about work carried out and recommended follow-up actions. The engineer will collaborate with other building services and FM teams, adhere to company health and safety procedures, and support continuous improvement in service quality and reliability.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong HVAC skills, including installation, servicing, fault-finding, and repair of air conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Candidates should possess building maintenance and building services skills to work effectively on integrated mechanical and electrical systems within commercial properties.
- Candidates should possess facility management (FM) and maintenance & repair skills to support FM contracts, planned preventive maintenance, and responsive call-outs.
- Recognized HVAC or air conditioning qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) and relevant industry certifications such as F-Gas are highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, safe working practices, and compliance standards relevant to building services and HVAC work.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications, use diagnostic tools, and complete accurate service reports and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team on-site.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to client sites within Brentwood, London, and the Home Counties as required.
