My client is looking for a Customer Services Team Leader to join their friendly, supportive team in the heart of Exeter. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll guide a team of Customer Service Advisors and Administrators, ensuring exceptional service delivery both face‑to‑face and over the phone.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading, supporting, and developing a team of customer service and administrative staff
- Providing day‑to‑day coaching, guidance, and performance support
- Handling customer enquiries in person and over the phone
- Managing challenging or sensitive situations with patience, empathy, and professionalism
- Ensuring compliance with internal processes and administrative procedures
- Overseeing on‑boarding and training for new team membersPrioritising workload and helping the team stay organised in a fast‑moving environment
- Maintaining a calm, solutions‑focused approach even during busy periods
What are the traits required in the Customer Service Team Leader role:
- Proven experience leading a customer facing team
- Strong background in customer service, ideally in a fast paced environment
- Confident dealing with customers face‑to‑face and over the phone
- Ability to stay calm, patient, and professional with difficult or emotional situations
- Experience with on‑boarding, training, and coaching team members
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- A natural problem‑solver who can think on their feet
- Understanding of compliance and administrative processes
- Experience in the healthcare sector is an advantage, but not essential
