Location: Exeter City Centre

Salary: £28,000-£32,000 DOE

Hours: Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week (office‑based)

My client is looking for a Customer Services Team Leader to join their friendly, supportive team in the heart of Exeter. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll guide a team of Customer Service Advisors and Administrators, ensuring exceptional service delivery both face‑to‑face and over the phone.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading, supporting, and developing a team of customer service and administrative staff
  • Providing day‑to‑day coaching, guidance, and performance support
  • Handling customer enquiries in person and over the phone
  • Managing challenging or sensitive situations with patience, empathy, and professionalism
  • Ensuring compliance with internal processes and administrative procedures
  • Overseeing on‑boarding and training for new team membersPrioritising workload and helping the team stay organised in a fast‑moving environment
  • Maintaining a calm, solutions‑focused approach even during busy periods

What are the traits required in the Customer Service Team Leader role:

  • Proven experience leading a customer facing team
  • Strong background in customer service, ideally in a fast paced environment
  • Confident dealing with customers face‑to‑face and over the phone
  • Ability to stay calm, patient, and professional with difficult or emotional situations
  • Experience with on‑boarding, training, and coaching team members
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • A natural problem‑solver who can think on their feet
  • Understanding of compliance and administrative processes
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is an advantage, but not essential
