Contract Manager – Leeds, West Yorkshire (regular UK travel)

We are looking for a dedicated Contract Manager to join our team, providing key outsourced logistics services to Nissan in Leeds on a full-time, permanent basis. Some occasional weekend work may be required, depending on production needs. As a Contract Manager, you will bring your financial acumen to monitor key performance indicators, providing insightful analysis to guide operational decisions.

The Role

As a Contract Manager, you will lead on all aspects of our Nissan contract to ensure that operational efficiency, customer service, and financial performance targets are met.

This is an engaging role that covers all areas of the account including relationship management, financial aspects such as profit and loss, quality and compliance, operations and people management.

Specifically, you will engage with stakeholders to ensure a successful relationship is developed, undertaking contract reviews, co‑leading negotiations and reporting. You will manage the profit and loss of the account, producing timely monthly management accounts and approving purchase orders and invoices.

Ensuring our team and any contractors are compliant and meeting quality requirements, you will ensure we deliver against the contract with a focus on meeting expectations, service levels and costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop your team of up to five direct reports
  • Forge excellent employee & customer relationships
  • Ensure all team members are suitably trained and offered development opportunities
  • Promote Kaizen and Right First-Time principles
  • Participate in and support the process of company disciplinary and appeal hearings, ensuring all employee processes including absence, PDR and performance are adhered to

Qualifications

  • Logistics management experience, preferably in a 3PL or 4PL environment
  • Experience within the automotive industry would be highly advantageous
  • Final mile experience (desirable)
  • Proven ability in managing senior stakeholder or customer relationships
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the proven ability to drive business growth and profitability
  • Proven ability to analyse complex business problems and deliver effective solutions in a timely manner
  • Proven ability in managing P&L, with the capability in financial analysis and strategic decision making
  • An understanding of effective customer and supplier relationship management principles
  • Excellent presentation delivery skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Relevant A‑Levels, ideally a degree‑level qualification, or equivalent experience
