BDM Planning and Operations Manager

Blue Legal has partnered with a leading global law firm to find a talented BDM Planning and Operations Manager. This pivotal role will be key in designing and delivering a structured, efficient communications framework for the Business Development and Marketing (BDM) function. Based in London, this fixed‑term contract role offers a fantastic opportunity to collaborate across teams while driving the communications strategy for the BDM function.

The Responsibilities:

  • BDM Communications Framework: Design and implement a consistent communications structure for the BDM function, covering key channels, frequency, ownership, and approval processes.
  • On boarding & Training: Develop and coordinate onboarding plans for new BDM joiners, ensuring they are equipped to understand BDM operations, tools, and processes, while integrating a BDM buddy system.
  • Internal Forums & Town Halls: Plan, organize, and deliver town halls, ensuring all BDM leadership messages are consistent, clear, and appropriately delivered across internal channels.
  • Viva Engage & Digital Engagement: Manage BDM’s presence on internal collaboration platforms, particularly Viva Engage, ensuring timely content creation and tracking engagement to foster community interaction.
  • Change Management & Tools Support: Provide communication and change management support for new tools and processes within BDM, such as Salesforce, including creating practical resources like FAQs, guides, and training.
  • BDM Event Coordination: Oversee the coordination of BDM events, managing logistics, agendas, contributor briefings, and follow‑up actions to ensure smooth execution.
  • Planning & Continuous Improvement: Maintain the BDM communications and events calendar, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. Proactively suggest improvements to streamline communications, onboarding, and change support processes.

The Candidate:

  • Proven experience in an internal communications or business operations role, ideally within Business Development & Marketing or a similar function.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement structured processes, including communications calendars, onboarding programmes, and recurring forums.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing clear, concise messaging for various audiences and platforms.
