Senior Mechanical Project Manager

Location: Sleaford, Lincolnshire (Office-based with travel as required)

Salary: £45,000 – £65,000 DOE + Car Allowance / Benefits

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead the structured delivery of commercial mechanical projects from initiation through to completion and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full project lifecycle delivery from initiation through to final handover.
  • Assess feasibility, define budgets, allocate resources, and develop labour and procurement programmes.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, including Gantt charts and progress tracking.
  • Promote high standards of health & safety, conducting site inspections and ensuring RAMS compliance.
  • Lead, motivate and coordinate project teams, site managers and foremen.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, interim applications, progress and variations.
  • Coordinate with in-house design teams to ensure drawings, registers and technical submissions are accurate.
  • Monitor project risk using look‑aheads, site reports and monthly reviews.
  • Control programme performance and financial delivery.
  • Provide clear and consistent reporting to senior management and clients.
  • Conduct project close‑out reviews to support continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience delivering mechanical packages on commercial projects.
  • Strong understanding of structured project management methodologies (PMI knowledge desirable).
  • Commercially astute with strong budgeting, planning and risk management skills.
  • Experience leading site teams and managing subcontractors.
  • Confident handling technical documentation and coordinating design teams.
  • Strong communication, organisational and client‑facing skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
