We are looking for a Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current UK PIN number and a passion for delivering outstanding care.

You’ll be working full time, 42 hours per week (12 hour shifts – days and nights), at Cygnet Lodge Salford.

Cygnet Lodge Salford is a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for women. The service supports 24 individuals with a primary diagnosis of mental illness, but they may also have a complex secondary diagnosis, including a personality disorder.

Your day-to-day

  • Lead an allocated team of nurses & support workers.
  • Ensure care & associated duties are allocated effectively & within team members’ competence.
  • Supervise junior staff, leading by example, teach & guide them.
  • Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit & improve quality.
  • Safeguard & promote the wellbeing of service users.
  • Manage medication.
  • Under NMC guidelines, ensure individual care plans are complete & maintained collectively with service users, relatives & other healthcare professionals.
  • Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation & evaluation of individual patient programmes of care.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience as a Charge Nurse.
  • Excellent people management skills & leadership qualities.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads.
  • The ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits & demonstrate integrity in the role.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 & an understanding of the latest nursing practices.
  • A commitment to patient recovery in order to effectively monitor, manage & reduce risk.
  • Compassion, resilience & a dedication to empower & support service user independence.
  • The ability to act as a role model, demonstrating a positive attitude towards service users, their families, visitors & others.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
