Location: Bradford
Job Description:

FGH Business Centre 66-70 Vicar Ln, Bradford BD1 5AJ

Hybrid flexibility: 2 office days per week

About The Role

The Solution Architect for Dynamics 365 plays a key role in shaping, designing, and governing solutions across D365 Finance & Operations and Supply Chain. The role focuses on improving how we manage suppliers, product data, purchasing, landed cost, and import processes, ensuring we maximise standard D365 capability and reduce dependency on legacy systems.

Working closely with delivery teams, partners, and business stakeholders, the architect provides clear direction on solution design, integration patterns, and data flows, using Azure services where appropriate. They help steer process redesign, assure partner outputs, and support our transition away from mainframe and group systems.

  • Design end‑to‑end Dynamics 365 F&O/SCM solutions, focusing on supplier management, product data, purchasing, landed cost, and import processes.
  • Ensure solution alignment with FGH architectural standards, using standard D365 capabilities and minimising customisation.
  • Define robust integration patterns using Azure Integration Services and support the retirement of legacy OIS/mainframe feeds.
  • Lead solution governance, including design reviews, architecture documentation, and engagement with ARB/TDA.
  • Translate business needs into scalable technical designs, driving automation and reducing manual effort.
  • Oversee partner/vendor solution outputs, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to architectural principles.
  • Shape and support data migration, security design, and testing approaches, including SIT/UAT alignment and ALM considerations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and delivery teams to guide process redesign and maintain solution integrity across workstreams.
  • Identify risks and improvement opportunities to support legacy system decommissioning and platform modernisation.

The role also provides strong stakeholder leadership, ensuring solutions are aligned across multiple delivery workstreams and that implementation partners adhere to FGH’s design standards. The architect will guide business process redesign, balancing architectural principles with delivery timelines, and ensuring consistent progress toward the decommissioning of legacy systems.

Accountabilities

Solution Delivery

  • Produce clear, high-quality architectural documentation.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable, including oversight of D365 security role design.
  • Provide guidance across workstreams to ensure alignment and coherent process design.

Application & Integration Architecture

  • Define and govern integrations between D365, Fabric, Azure services, stock systems, and legacy applications.
  • Implement integration patterns using Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, APIM, Service Bus).
  • Lead data migration design, including mapping, transformation, and load planning.
  • Ensure data flows are reliable, performant, and fit for future phased decommissioning of legacy systems.

  • Facilitate workshops and drive clear decisions on D365 design choices.
  • Communicate risks, issues, and trade‑offs in a clear and constructive way.
  • Manage design‑related escalations and support coordination across multiple workstreams.

Continuous Improvement & Modernisation

  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and remove manual or duplicate effort.
  • Support the roadmap to retire mainframe, OIS, group systems, and other legacy platforms.
  • Ensure successful handover to BAU through documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational readiness.
  • Help develop architectural capability across the wider Technology function.
