Responsibilities
- Manage complex design projects from concept to release
- Lead design of large assemblies optimised for manufacture
- Perform mechanical calculations and FEA simulations
- Lead internal and customer‑facing design reviews
- Liaise with internal sales teams and customers
- Produce engineering drawings and BOMs
- Create SOPs for manufacturing and assembly
- Produce technical reports and documentation
- Support Sales, Production and Install teams
- Review design work from team members
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers
Candidate Requirements
- 7+ years’ mechanical design experience
- Engineering degree (mechanical/design engineering or similar)
- Full design lifecycle experience
- Strong 3D CAD skills (Inventor or SolidWorks ideal)
- Experienced in design for manufacture (sheet metal/machining beneficial)
- Skilled in calculations and FEA
- Strong GD&T knowledge
- ECR/change management experience
- Tolerance analysis background
- ERP/MRP system experience
- Good standard of IT skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
