Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Salary: up to £65,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established and growing Building Services Consultancy delivering technically challenging projects across a variety of sectors.

This role offers the chance to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients, and contribute to raising technical standards within a collaborative and forward-thinking team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead selected projects and support multidisciplinary teams on complex schemes.
  • Attend key meetings and deliver client presentations.
  • Contribute to technical excellence within the mechanical team.
  • Build strong client relationships and support repeat business.
  • Produce drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare or oversee design calculations.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered or working towards), or HNC/HND with strong relevant design experience.
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ post-qualification experience in building services design.
  • Proficiency in software including Microsoft Office, Relux/Dialux, Amtech, and Revit.
  • Strong knowledge of British and European Standards and Building Regulations.
  • Familiarity with HTM guidance (beneficial).
  • Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE or IET) desirable.
  • Good understanding of HV/LV systems.
  • Knowledge of embedded generation integration.
  • Experience specifying renewable technologies.
  • Working knowledge of BREEAM.
  • Broad understanding of electrical engineering to confidently contribute in multidisciplinary meetings.
