Electrical Installation Engineer

Location: Wigan

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum plus 20% Overtime

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to join a busy engineering team delivering industrial automation and conveyor solutions. This role is a mix of workshop preparation and on-site installation, ideal for hands‑on engineers who understand control panels inside out and enjoy working on real industrial systems.

Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing electrical systems, panels and equipment in the workshop prior to installation
• Installing control panels and electrical systems on customer sites
• Working with conveyor and material handling systems
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
• Supporting commissioning activities and ensuring installations are delivered to specification
• Liaising with engineering and controls teams to ensure smooth project delivery
• Travel to customer sites, approximately 70% of the role

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• Strong experience as an Electrical Installation Engineer
• Proven knowledge of control panels and their operation
• Experience working with conveyor systems
• Ability to work independently on‑site and in the workshop
• Willingness to travel regularly

Desirable:

• Experience in FMCG or industrial automation environments
• Familiarity with commissioning industrial automation systems
