Credit Controller (Lloyd’s London Market)
We are currently looking for a Credit Controller to work with us on a full‑time basis in London, reporting into the Head of Premium Debt Management. You will be a team member in the Underwriting Business Management Division responsible for premium credit control, including monitoring premium, reporting, processing and analysing the business underwritten by the managed Syndicates and other related Group companies (dual stamp) on a day‑to‑day basis.
Key responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities
- Support the Premium Debt team with the MRSG Credit Control processes and the management of accurate premium data on a daily basis.
- Produce, analyse and investigate aged debtor balances on a regular basis.
- Chase, resolve, negotiate and reconcile aged debt accounts and balances with brokers to maintain an accurate record of the outstanding premium position.
- Take control of complex reconciliations as required.
- Liaise closely with Underwriters to resolve premium queries and errors quickly.
- Work with Underwriting teams to develop and improve premium credit control within each team.
- Monitor premium payments received through the relevant policy administration systems.
- Respond to and take ownership of internal queries.
- Be aware of and understand relevant KPIs.
- Interface with underwriters and other relevant teams or individuals within the group.
- Improve operational analysis of results and trends for premium payments and verify more accurate data regarding unpaid premium.
- Ensure all processes are documented effectively.
- Manage tasks within an agreed timetable, including booking relevant review meetings with team management.
- Critically appraise all processes and assumptions on an ongoing basis with a continual‑improvement outlook.
- Assist in other areas of the team and provide effective cover when appropriate.
- Help drive forward good conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers and policyholders.
- Understand lines of escalation and responsibilities of the Product Conduct Risk Strategy Group (PCRSG), Underwriting & Claims Sub Committee (UCSC), ExCo and Board for Conduct Risk.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven experience working in Credit Control.
- Previous experience in the Lloyd’s London market is beneficial.
- Previous experience in Insurance is essential.
