An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen on AM2 Respiratory.

We are looking for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our dynamic team.

Are you an experienced Respiratory nurse with a particular interest in Respiratory Medicine?

This could be the role for you.

AM2 is a 28 bedded General Respiratory Ward managing the care of patients with a range of respiratory conditions.

Our team are specially trained to deliver acute respiratory care including the delivery of level 2 interventions at ward level, amongst other respiratory skills.

You will be joining our friendly and dynamic multi-disciplinary team with excellent standards and great work ethic.

You will be supported to develop as a band 6 sister/charge nurse through leadership training and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Dedicated, motivated and skilled, taking pride in providing exceptional patient care.
  • Passionate about acute respiratory nursing.
  • Experience with Non‑Invasive Ventilation.
  • Potential for leadership and mentorship, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Works well within a MDT as well as independently.
  • Experience in audits and IQP change projects, recognising the need for improvement work.
  • Familiar with Health Roster, NHSP and the new HIVE system.
  • Skilled at day‑to‑day shift coordination, supporting and mentoring junior staff, escalating changes in patient needs, and communicating in MDT daily board rounds.

Full training and support will be given to help you progress your skills at band 6 and for you to complete the band 6 competency framework.
