The Facilities & Workplace Services Officer is key to the delivery of the Intelligent Client Function by Defra Group Property (DgP) and provides reassurance on statutory duties and compliance and maintaining and enhancing good working relationships with both customers and the service provider.
The role provides a fully legally compliant & safe customer focused service and helps the Team Leader to manage 15 operational sites and offices across Hertfordshire, North London and Essex. Particular responsibility for engaging with stakeholders in Core DEFRA and Arm’s Length Bodies & ensuring their business needs are met. It is the primary point of contact & intelligent client for ISS DEFRA Contract. The role is designed to ensure legal & environmental compliance is maintained to keep the buildings open, functioning and safe.
Responsibilities
Supporting the Facilities & Workplace Services Lead for the hub to:
- Work with local stakeholders to understand their current and future workplace requirements.
- Interface with the Facilities Management (FM) Service Providers to ensure and facilitate a seamless facilities management service provision.
- Provide assurance to stakeholders that the workplaces occupied by their staff and visitors are legally compliant and safe.
- Manage Health & Safety, premises maintenance, Business Continuity arrangements, identifying any remedial actions and acting upon them.
Please note this role is based at Alchemy House, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 1HE. There is a requirement to travel to sites across the Hertfordshire & North London and Essex Geographical area. In addition travel to other sites and overnight stays may be required for meetings or training events.
