Role summary

Here at BaxterStorey we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Director. The Sales Director will be responsible for agreeing and delivering an effective sales strategy to identify and secure new business development opportunities within London, as well as increase sales, growth and profitability from existing accounts. The role has a strategic focus on retention of existing business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust sales strategy, reviewing progress on a regular basis with the senior leadership team.
  • Create proposals and plans and guide long-term objectives to meet business needs, including annual business development and brand/communication plans.
  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities, defining where to focus development efforts.
  • Research new markets and trends, proposing and developing new strategic client partnerships.
  • Manage an effective pipeline of potential new business and bids from first contact to final close, including pre-RFP strategy.
  • Lead presentations to new/prospective clients during tender processes and oversee RFP responses.
  • Present marketing opportunities and help develop marketing strategies.
  • Lead, manage and develop the sales team to meet and exceed targets.
  • Manage sales resources and costs to budget and plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Operations Directors to ensure delivery of tender commitments and client relationship plans for retendering.
  • Build and maintain strong industry sector relationships.
  • Manage finances within budget for business development and brand activity.
  • Control departmental budget for the direct team and resources.
  • Challenge how the business can achieve greater profitability.

  • Track record in B2B sales within a multi-location industry
  • Experience winning new business from major corporate clients; strong account management
  • Excellent commercial skills and ability to exploit opportunities
  • Accomplished leader and people manager who can align a team to common goals
  • Strong communicator, able to influence at all levels
  • Financially astute with strategic thinking and ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Strong business acumen with commercial and emotional intelligence
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-starter, energetic and motivated
  • High integrity and determination to succeed
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
