An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business Services Team for a Business Services Development Officer. This post will sit within the Environment and Transport Department.

About the Role

The role is suitable for a range of candidates from those with an administrative background looking for the next step in their career or a more experienced candidate who has some prior experience and knowledge of business planning and/or performance management.

The role supports the Business Services Development Manager and Business Planning Manager in providing internal managers with advice and support on business services including business planning, risk management, performance management, data protection and other specialist business functions.

The role is career graded from grade 7-9 which is from £26,832 to £34,359 per year and the successful candidate may be appointed at any pay scale within that range, depending on experience working within a business planning, risk management, performance management or data protection environment.

A formal progression plan detailing the requirements to progress will be provided to the successful candidate. An accompanying training plan will be agreed with the successful candidate to ensure they are fully supported to gain the knowledge and experience to progress through the career grades.

Tasks and responsibilities will be based on the individuals place within the career grading scheme.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience maintaining administrative systems including the ability to update and analyse data with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide effective support on a range of topics to internal managers whilst remaining positive and solution focussed. You will also require good organisational skills with the ability to planand prioritise your workload which may have conflicting priorities.
  • Able to use your initiative to work independently while maintaining a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills) and the ability to respond to challenging conversations in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Ability to build strong, open and transparent relationships based on trust and respect.
