We’re seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to drive growth and deepen our footprint in this critical sector.
The Role
As a Senior Business Development Executive, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base, nurturing strategic partnerships, and positioning Hamlyn Williams as a go-to talent partner in the engineering space. You’ll leverage your commercial acumen and industry knowledge to identify opportunities, shape tailored recruitment solutions, and influence senior-level stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on Engineering markets such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, automation, process controls, and life sciences.
- Proactively identify and engage with new clients within regulated industries, building strong, long-term relationships.
- Consult with clients to understand their technical hiring needs and design custom recruitment strategies (contingent, retained, SoWs, or project-based).
- Collaborate closely with delivery consultants to ensure successful fulfilment of roles and projects.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking sessions to maintain market visibility and intelligence.
- Drive commercial growth through upselling, cross-selling, and developing multi-site or international client accounts.
- Act as a market expert, providing insights on hiring trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor activity.
Required Experience & Skills
- 3+ years of experience in business development or recruitment within engineering, life sciences, pharma, or automation sectors.
- Proven track record of winning and managing high-value client accounts.
- Strong understanding of technical roles in regulated or manufacturing environments (e.g., automation engineers, validation, process engineering, CQV).
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to operate with autonomy, drive performance, and work collaboratively within a team.
- Experience working with Statement of Work (SOW) or project-based service models is a strong plus.
- Work in a high-growth, high-impact team within a global recruitment firm.
