Role

As a Care & Support Assistant, you’ll support those in the local community who may be living with a mental or physical disability. You’ll give them whatever level of support they need – from helping them to choose the right outfit to delivering personal care including washing them or brushing their teeth. You’ll get to know our residents by talking to them, help with their medication, mealtimes, organising and taking part in activities and generally ensuring all those we support are living their best lives.

Working hours

35 hours per week: Shifts are 7 hours long and run as follows:

We offer full, hands‑on training where you can work towards relevant certifications, plus 2.5 weeks induction training and a further 2-4 weeks “Buddy scheme”. You will be required to complete an NVQ Level 2 in Care within two years of appointment, with full support provided.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience in health or social care is desirable, but not essential. You must have the passion and will to provide exceptional level care and make individuals feel seen and cared for.

Legal Requirements

Unfortunately, this role does not meet the legal requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, at our cost. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
