Job Description
Ensuring all Opayo web applications are delivered through Development, Test and Production environments in an automated Continuous Delivery manner. Opayo is a high transactional environment available 24/7. The team maintains, monitors, and resolves incidents according to departmental SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support Opayo Payments Applications, detect failures using monitoring tools, investigate and resolve issues, and write custom monitoring scripts.
- Collaborate with development teams to design new products and architect solutions.
- Monitor live environments to detect failures and resolve issues.
- Deploy software releases in cooperation with Development & Test teams.
- Support production systems outside standard working hours, reducing BAU and manual tasks through automation.
- Contribute to continual improvement of processes, team practices, and supported systems.
- Participate in departmental projects in alignment with the technology roadmap.
- Work with third parties and partners to ensure product compliance and stability.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Must have:
- Extensive experience with AWS.
- Extensive experience with scripting languages.
- Extensive experience with monitoring tools (SumoLogic, New Relic).
- Extensive experience with automation tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience in a DevOps support model.
- Experience in a highly available, high‑transaction, production environment.
- Demonstrable communication in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented, team‑based environment.
- Preferred:
- Proven experience with payment gateways.
Key Performance Indicators
- System uptime and downtime in accordance with Operational SLAs.
- All releases follow defined processes and procedures.
- Participation in on‑call rota (additional on‑call allowance).
- Scripts maintained in source control.
Key Stakeholders
- Operations, Database, Infrastructure, and Network teams.
- Agile Scrum teams.
- Security team.
Location and Work Arrangement
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule with an expectation of at least 3 days per week in‑office and flexibility to work outside the office for the remaining days. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
