Staff Nurse – Cygnet Victoria House
We are looking for a Staff Nurse with a passion for delivering outstanding care. You will work 42 hours a week at Cygnet Victoria House, a 26‑bed mental health inpatient service for men. The service is divided across two wards and provides a safe, stabilising environment for men experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and requiring emergency admission.
About the Service
Cygnet Health Care was established in 1988 and now provides a range of mental health services. Our 10,000‑strong team empowers 2,864 individuals across 150 services to create positive outcomes through service‑user focused care and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed written reports based on nursing assessments and observations.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop the service, audit, and improve quality.
- Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge and promote nursing practice.
- Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete and maintained collaboratively with residents, relatives, and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medicines within healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) with a current PIN number.
- Ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits, and demonstrate integrity in the role.
- Good understanding of the latest nursing practices and the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Commitment to patient recovery, risk management, and empowerment of service user independence.
- Compassion, resilience, honesty, and open communication.
- Experience deputising in a clinical lead role and interest in leadership, research, and assessment.
