Senior Systems Test Analyst
Location: East Croydon
Hours: 37.5 hours – 9:00am to 5:30pm (Hybrid working available: 2 days from home, 3 days in office).

Job Purpose
The Senior Systems Test Analyst leads test activities across the Watsons Promotion project, ensuring that systems and changes are delivered to a high standard of quality. The role defines test approach and coverage and works closely with project and business stakeholders to manage testing risks and dependencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Leadership & PlanningOwn and define test approach and strategy for the Watsons Promo project.
- Create and maintain detailed test plans, ensuring coverage across functional and non‑functional areas.
- Identify testing risks, constraints, and dependencies and proactively raise them where required.
- Test Design & ExecutionLead analysis of requirements and determine effective test coverage.
- Design and review complex test scenarios and scripts, ensuring traceability to requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Execute and oversee System Integration Testing and provide User Acceptance Testing support, maintaining accuracy and pace.
- Ensure test data and environments are suitable and correctly configured.
- Defect & Quality ManagementLog defects clearly and consistently, with evidence to support rapid resolution.
- Analyze issues to assist in root cause determination and prioritisation.
- Monitor defect trends and quality metrics to inform release readiness decisions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & ReportingServe as the primary testing contact for the project.
- Provide clear and accurate test status reports, including progress, pass/fail status, and risks.
- Coordinate testing activities with project managers, business analysts, and developers to avoid delays.
- Customer FocusBuild strong relationships at all levels and manage complex stakeholder messages.
- Model collaboration and support the team in exceeding goals.
- Promote wellbeing, diversity, and inclusive practices within the team.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Significant experience in a Test Analyst or QA role, including ownership of test planning and execution.
- Strong experience writing and reviewing test plans, test cases, and evidence.
- Proven experience using defect and test management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Strong analytical skills to assess risk and test coverage.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience in retail, e‑commerce, or transactional systems environments.
- Experience supporting SIT and UAT in complex, multi‑system landscapes.
- Experience guiding AI adoption and the balance between AI and human judgment.
- Ability to shift work from repetitive tasks to higher‑value activities as AI takes on routine tasks.
- Role‑modeling behaviours to encourage confidence with AI and critical thinking of outputs.
