Auto Electrician / Installation Engineer – Neath, Wales
Pay: £17.75 per hour (£18.00 per hour after probation)
Hours:Monday – Thursday, 07:00 – 16:00 (30‑min unpaid break)Early Finish Friday, 07:00 – 12:00Contract: Permanent
Earning Potential (OTE)
Hourly Rate (starting): £17.75 per hour
Hourly Rate (after probation): £18.00 per hour
Basic Salary (after probation): £36,504 per year
Overtime Rate: Paid at time‑and‑a‑half (1.5x)
Realistic OTE: £40,150 – £40,700+ per year
Overview
We need an experienced Auto Electrician / Installation Engineer for a well‑established bodybuilding manufacturing facility in Neath. This role offers a condensed week – you finish at 12pm every Friday. You’ll install electrical wiring harnesses, lighting, and ancillary equipment on bespoke commercial vehicle builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and fit electrical wiring harnesses and lighting to commercial vehicles
- Carry out marker lamp installations in line with Type Approval legislation
- Fit electrical and ancillary equipment to specification
- Work from job sheets and ensure jobs are completed efficiently
- Support with apprentice training where required
What You’ll Need
- Experience in electrical installations within commercial vehicles
- Good mechanical understanding alongside electrical work
- Experience working on bespoke vehicle builds
- Ability to read and interpret job specs and instructions
- Ideally a recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar
