You will play a key role in coordinating daily warehouse activity, leading a team on the shop floor, and ensuring operational targets are met safely and efficiently. This hands‑on leadership role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and manage a fast‑paced team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Shift Manager in day‑to‑day warehouse operations
- Allocate workloads to ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines
- Monitor performance and ensure delivery of the daily shift plan
- Manage attendance, timekeeping, return‑to‑work interviews, and absence processes
- Identify operational issues and elevate appropriately to management
- Maintain strong communication with the Shift Manager regarding tasks and updates
- Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor (80‑90% of shift)
- Identify training needs and support team development
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role
- Experience managing teams, including 1‑2‑1s and performance reviews
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes and best practice
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail
