GP (Permanent salaried role – 5 to 8 sessions)
Hollies Medical Practice has an opportunity available for a GP to join our existing team.
The Hollies is a friendly, high achieving practice based on the edge of Tamworth town centre and provides care to approximately 15,000 patients. As part of the Mercian Network, we are a forward thinking practice and are keen to embrace new methods of working, for the benefit of our staff and patients.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for providing a high quality of care to our practice population by delivering health care in a safe and responsible manner.
The postholder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice and maintain a positive working relationship with the practice and wider team, acting with integrity and complete confidentiality at all times, as well as treating all patients and staff with dignity, respect and honesty.
Provide consultations to patients at the practice by taking histories, examination, investigations, including diagnostic tests. Treating patients and prescribing appropriate medication. Referring patients or providing advice, as appropriate.
Management of long term conditions.
Conducting consultations via telephone, video consultation and in person and recording notes in an accurate and timely manner on the practice clinical system.
Providing clinical advice and support to other clinical staff and respond to queries from the administrative teams.
Attend and participate in regular practice and multidisciplinary meetings.
Develop care plans in consultation with patients.
Participate in clinical audits within the practice.
Carrying out home visits when required
Reviewing and acting on correspondence relating to patients
The postholder will be expected to undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within a primary care team

Job responsibilities

Participate in clinical audits within the practice.
Contribute to the development of protocols and clinical standards within the practice
Contribute to the ongoing development of the practice, including identifying opportunities for service development.
Carrying out home visits when required
Reviewing and acting on correspondence relating to patients
Produce reports for non NHS purposes, such as insurance reports and medical. (Partners only)
The postholder will be expected to undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within a primary care team
Other Responsibilities within the Organisation
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
A commitment to life‑long learning and audit to ensure evidence‑based best practice
To attend local protected learning time events.
Responsibilities outside the organisation. To engage with events and learning organised by organisations related to health care development in the locality and in particular the Mercian PCN and the Staffordshire CCG.
Participate in the review of significant events and complaints to encourage learning.

Qualifications
- GMC registration
- Performers list registration
- Full UK driving licence
Experience
- Clinical knowledge and skills
- Excellent written and oral communication
- IT skills
- An understanding of QOF and clinical audit
- 2 years working in primary care
- Motivated, problem solver
- Punctual and committed
- Flexibility to work outside core hours
