Job Overview

We are looking for an Art and Design teacher who will support students in a popular and successful Art department.

You will need:

  • to have an interest/background in art and design
  • to be able to order, prepare and construct learning resources for practical lessons
  • to relate well to both students and adults and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • to be a team player and show initiative
  • to be organised and able to prioritise tasks
  • to understand the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures

You will be responsible for:

  • setting up and clearing away lesson resources e.g. table set up, sketchbooks, clay, tools, printing press sewing machines etc
  • assisting with the correct storage of work, clearing drying rack etc.
  • ensuring that all health and safety documentation is up-to-date and accurate
  • managing stock levels of equipment and resources in the department
  • maintaining and using the pug mill, kilns and printing press

Previous school experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
