Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for b ased at our Head office in Leeds. We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our busy Finance team. The ideal candidate would be a strong character with experience of managing in-excess of £35m turnover annually. This would be a varied and rewarding role and a great opportunity to work with a proficient and dynamic team
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Credit Controller role (5+ years).
- Understanding of Duty / VAT (desirable).
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong character with an attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of Cargo Wise Operating System or worked in a freight forwarding/logistics company would be a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Chasing customers for overdue accounts.
- Chasing customers for duty and vat invoices – liaising with operations to ensure the duty and vat payments are received on time.
- Monitor and maintain credit limits.
- Ensure new customers provide the correct set up documentation.
- Assess sales invoices/credit notes comparable to job, department, and company.
- Send monthly statements to customers.
- Evaluate performance and make suggestions to improve cashflows.
- Audit accounts receivable operations to make sure invoices and receipts are properly coded.
- Monthly debtor report review with the Finance Manager.
