Location: Based in Brent. This floating support service may involve outreach sites, personal homes, and office space. Step‑free access is available at the base office but cannot be guaranteed at external locations.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, rotating between 08:00 and 18:00, working 8‑hour shifts. Outside hours may be required as needed.
About the Role
We are hiring a Housing Support Worker to join our team in Brent. In this role you will support participants who have been or are at risk of homelessness, social exclusion, mental health challenges, substance use challenges, learning disabilities, or previous convictions. You will guide participants toward recovery, re‑ablement, and independence in a compassionate, trauma‑informed environment.
You will be at the heart of delivering high‑quality, person‑centred support through tailored support plans, practical interventions, life skill development, and goal achievement. You will partner with a range of organisations to meet the diverse needs of our participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Support residents facing housing and long‑term living challenges.
- Co‑create tailored support plans through one‑to‑one, group, and multi‑agency meetings.
- Enable residents to build skills and confidence toward independent living.
- Signpost participants to local providers such as Job Centres, employment support hubs, community support centres, mental‑health trusts, etc.
- Work lone where required, supported by a responsive team.
- Recognise support needs and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent deterioration.
- Complete safeguarding and other referrals as required.
- Maintain updated support plans on our online portal.
About You
We seek a passionate individual with a shared mission to reduce homelessness risk. You should have lived or professional experience supporting people with homelessness and complex needs, and be able to engage, build rapport, and drive personal goal achievement. You will be empathic, creative, adept with intermediate IT (Microsoft and other software), flexible with working patterns, and aligned with our values of Ambition, Empowerment, Inclusivity, and Transparency.
