This is a key role within the commercial team, responsible for managing strategic customer relationships, driving sustainable growth, and delivering strong commercial performance across a portfolio of retail accounts.
The successful candidate will combine strong account management expertise with a hands‑on approach to commercial planning, financial management, and customer development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop relationships with a portfolio of grocery and retail customers.
- Deliver sales growth through effective account planning, customer development, and commercial initiatives.
- Manage commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, and promotional activity.
- Monitor and improve account profitability and overall business performance.
- Prepare forecasts, budgets, and commercial analyses to support decision‑making.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and operational delivery.
- Identify market opportunities and contribute to the wider commercial strategy.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable experience in a commercial, account management, or business development role within grocery, retail, FMCG, or a related sector.
- Strong understanding of the grocery retail landscape and customer management.
- Commercially astute with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
- Highly analytical with strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and negotiation abilities.
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
- Proven ability to deliver sales growth and develop long‑term customer partnerships.
