We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a range of primary and secondary schools across Leicestershire. The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a variety of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
- Physical and sensory impairments
Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND
- Assisting with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Working collaboratively with teachers and parents/carers
- Helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications (advantageous but not essential)
