Role Purpose

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our manufacturing processes. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop and implement process improvements, optimise production systems, and drive cost‑effective solutions. The Role

  • Evaluate and analyse existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
  • Conduct process feasibility studies for new product introductions or process modifications, including cost analysis, risk assessment, and capacity planning.
  • Perform root cause analysis for process failures or quality issues, implementing appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Production, Quality Assurance, and Technical/Data, to develop and implement process enhancements and modifications.
  • Develop and maintain product data and process documentation, including CAD, BOMs, ERP & CNC data, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process control plans.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards, identifying and addressing any potential compliance risks.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, driving a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience as a Process/Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably in furniture manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and quality control.
  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Experience with process modelling, simulation, and optimisation tools.
  • Experience of using CAD (Solidworks preferable) and ERP systems would be advantageous.
  • Firm understanding of quality management systems, including ISO standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a data‑driven approach.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and their application in a manufacturing environment.
