Overview

Global Investment Bank is currently looking for a credit derivatives valuation controller to join their London team. This role has been created through an internal move and is an ideal opportunity for a Valuation controller who is keen to work in a broader finance role for a high profile credit desk.

Responsibilities

  • Present monthly credit valuation control results to the senior stakeholders including Risk Managers & Quant Strategic Group.
  • Partner with product control to review and challenge valuation control results
  • Liaise with Regulators and Auditors on their queries and exams regarding the valuation controls
  • Ensure timely remediation of regulatory matters requiring attention, audit findings and associated reporting demands
  • Maintain and set up proper governance framework and protocol to effectively report valuation risks
  • Review and update the firm’s valuation control policy and guideline (and any other documentation owned by valuation methodology) to ensure accurate interpretation of regulatory requirements
  • Develop appropriate governance, framework, and metrics for effective compliance with policies and regulatory expectations pertaining to valuation control
  • Develop tactical and strategic solutions to improve the efficiency, consistency and accuracy of valuation control framework across all asset classes
  • Work with Product control and Valuation Methodology and other groups as necessary, to ensure that the bank has a consistent valuation framework that meets both internal and external requirement
  • Build and maintain relationships with other quantitative groups (e.g. QSG, MRM, Market Risk) to ensure adequate model governance
  • Lead / contribute to project and initiatives to develop solutions for effective valuation control framework

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a valuation control (IPV) role within Banking or Big 4 Consultancy covering a credit derivatives desk (Bonds, CDS, Index Options) – Essential
  • Qualified Accountant – Ideal but not essential
  • Proven experience of initiating and identifying areas of process improvements
  • CFA or MSc Qualified
