Media Relations Executive (Corporate Communications & PR)
Overview
Our client, a leading organisation within the aviation and travel sector, is seeking a Media Relations Executive to join its Corporate Communications function.
This is a high‑profile role at the centre of a fast‑paced press office environment, focused on managing media relations, protecting brand reputation, and delivering impactful communications. You will play a key role in shaping public perception, handling breaking news, and supporting crisis communications activity.
This is a full‑time, hybrid role based near Heathrow, with a requirement for regular on‑site presence and participation in an on‑call rota.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media and press contacts
- Manage incoming media enquiries and respond to breaking news and issues
- Draft and distribute press releases, statements, and briefing materialsMonitor and analyse media coverage, providing insights and reports to stakeholders
- Support crisis communications, including participation in on‑call rotas and response exercises
- Identify opportunities for positive media coverage aligned with organisational priorities
- Manage media databases, distribution lists, and press office systems
- Simplify complex issues into clear, engaging communications
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective communication strategies
Requirements
- Proven experience in media relations, PR, or corporate communications
- Experience handling crisis communications or high‑profile media issues
- Strong network of media contacts and track record of securing coverage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
