I have collaborated with a business who are searching for a driven, proactive, and commercially minded Sales Support & Business Development person. Working closely with, and reporting directly to, the Head of Sales, you’ll support both customer growth and the administrative engine of the sales function.
This is a varied role, ideal for someone who loves structure, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and wants to gain exposure to the full sales cycle within a growing FMCG business. If you’re hungry to develop your long‑term career in sales, I want to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing new business through our network of local customers, distributors, and wholesalers.
- Prospecting new customers from initial lead to close – selling the right range to the right customer.
- Managing and growing existing customer accounts.
- Supporting the execution of promotional plans to maximise ROI.Handling inbound and outbound customer calls – from enquiries to order-taking.
- Managing orders, invoicing, and liaising with customers to ensure all documentation is completed correctly.
- Coordinating shipments and supporting with general sales admin tasks.
- Ensuring CRM systems are accurate and always up to date.
- Fully managing relationships with both national and regional accounts.
- Attending trade shows and industry events to represent the business.
- Providing holiday or absence cover when required.
This role suits someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, enjoys multi-tasking, and loves being the operational heartbeat of a sales department.
What We’re Looking For
- Essential: A background in FMCG / food / drink sales – this is a must.
- Exceptional organisation and time‑management skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and people skills.
- Confidence on the phone and a proactive, energetic approach to work.
- Good financial numeracy and the ability to build commercially sound proposals.
- Solid IT skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new systems.
- Car/ driving license due to office location.
