Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Technician to join our growing, friendly team at Niftylift! The role is based at our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Stonebridge, Milton Keynes. This is a hands‑on role, including shot blasting, fully preparing metal components and operating/maintaining all non‑CNC machines.

Key Responsibilities
- Follow processes and detail any non‑conformances.
- Use gauges and measuring equipment for inspection purposes.
- Use jigs and assembly fixtures to manufacture high‑quality repetitive components.
- Maintain a clean environment within the department.
- Use correct consumables for preparation and sanding of metal and polymer components before paint/powder application.
- Book on and off jobs, filling out timesheets and quality check sheets.
- Identify material surface defects on parts prior to paint/powder application and repair using adequate products.
- Masking, final paint/powder preparation, handling parts on and off paint runways.
- Move chassis parts in and out of paint booths.
- Maintain a high standard of 5S workplace organisation.

Previous Experience
- Ability to read and execute SOPs to a high standard.
- An appreciation of the health & safety hazards within a paint shop, specifically isocyanates & flammable liquids.
- Experience operating within a lean manufacturing/continuous improvement team environment.
- Ability to read, write and communicate at all levels.
- Experience preparing unpainted parts (desirable).
- Welding knowledge (desirable).
- Experience using and maintaining air‑fed respiratory equipment (desirable).
- Shot blasting experience (desirable).
Working Hours
This role works on a rotating shift pattern, and the successful candidate will work one week of early shifts followed by one week of late shifts (37.5 hours per week basic).
- Early Shift: 06:00 – 14:00 (Monday – Thursday), 06:00 – 11:30 (Friday).
- Late Shift: 14:00 – 22:00 (Monday – Thursday), 11:00 – 16:30 (Friday).
- Guaranteed hourly starting rate: £12.86 per hour (rising to a maximum of £13.67 per hour once signed off at specific skill levels).
- Shift premium: 15% on all basic hours worked (37.5 per week).
- Overtime: paid at a premium rate (x1.5 or x2.0 depending on hours worked).
- Bonus: weekly production bonus guaranteed at a minimum of £50 per week when all qualifying criteria are met, annual bonus (for indication only) based on recent average £500 per annum.
