Operatives (Temporary)

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Weighbridge Operative to operate the weighbridge efficiently and accurately, ensuring all incoming and outgoing vehicles are weighed, recorded, and processed in line with site procedures, legal regulations, and company policies. Operate the weighbridge system to accurately record vehicle weights and materials, ensuring legal compliance* Plan and allocate daily deliveries, ensuring efficient and safe use of available fleet resources* Handle customer issues with empathy and escalate complaints to the Quarry Manager when necessary* Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and professionalism of the weighbridge office environment* Perform routine weekly inspections of the weighbridge to ensure it is operating accurately and efficiently* Identify and report any faults, damage, or irregularities in compliance with health, safety, and operational standards. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with drivers, contractors, colleagues, and the public* Good computer literacy (including MS Word and Excel) and the ability to learn site systems such as weighbridge software and MP Connect* A proactive approach to maintaining safety and compliance standards* A collaborative and team-focused mindset, with the ability to work closely with other sites and commercial functions* weighbridge, logistics, waste).* Knowledge of waste management regulations or transport documentation.* Forklift or plant machinery license (if applicable to the site).* Flexibility to work shifts or weekends.
