Overview
The post holder will work in the Community Learning Disability Team providing clinical leadership and team leadership. The role will enhance the current nursing leadership service provision as a whole. The post holder will lead and work in collaboration with the Nurse Leads and Clinical Leads and Head of Professions, Hub managers.
Responsibilities
- Assess the care needs of children and young people with moderate to profound learning disabilities and implement care in a variety of settings, providing highly specialist advice and maintaining appropriate records.
- Provide specialist education and training to other staff, students, patients and carers.
- Act as a Senior CAMHS Practitioner within the defined community service (Solar) and manage a defined caseload within the service.
- Develop specialised programmes of care to meet the mental health needs of the 0–18 population with a moderate to profound learning disability.
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care within agreed parameters, with working knowledge of local and national policies and legislation governing current service provision and audits.
- Provide supervision and consultancy to other mental health professionals and contribute to the development of psychological therapy provision within the service as appropriate.
- Ensure effective communication pathways exist and promote equality, diversity and rights in accordance with good practice and legislation.
- Demonstrate knowledge and completion of Continuing Healthcare Checklists.
- Identify and contribute to training needs necessary to provide high-quality, evidence-based care.
- Provide professional leadership and day-to-day supervision for the defined team(s), taking a consultative role to develop skills, experience and expertise within the wider team.
Qualifications
- Hold a relevant professional qualification (RMN) and current registration with the NMC.
Additional information
