About the Opportunity
STEM Connex is proud to be partnering exclusively with a well-established Data Centre operator based in West London to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their growing operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mission-critical infrastructure professional to take ownership of complex, high-impact projects within a dynamic and fast-paced colocation environment.
The Role
As Data Centre Project Manager, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle — from initial scoping and planning through to execution and closeout — across a range of infrastructure improvement, capacity expansion, and fit-out projects. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and facilities teams, as well as external vendors and contractors, to ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of data centre projects, including M&E upgrades, capacity expansions, and infrastructure improvements within live operational environments
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, controls, and IT disciplines
- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and third-party suppliers
- Track project KPIs and provide regular progress reporting to senior stakeholders
- Draft, review, and optimise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with safety and audit requirements
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure maximum uptime and infrastructure availability
- Support commissioning activities and ensure handover documentation is complete and accurate
About You
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ project management experience, with at least 3 years in data centre or mission-critical infrastructure environments
- Strong working knowledge of data centre M&E systems — power distribution, UPS, cooling (CRAC/CRAH), generators, and BMS
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a live operational setting
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing third-party contractors and vendor relationships
- Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar)
Desirable:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or APM qualification
- CDCP / CDCS or equivalent data centre certification
- Familiarity with colocation environments and customer SLA management
- Experience with DCIM platforms
What’s on Offer
- Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
- Company pension scheme
- Private healthcare
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
- Ongoing professional development and certification support
- The chance to work on high-profile, large-scale infrastructure projects with a respected industry operator
