Location: London
Job Description:

Why This Role Is Different

Most QS roles offer the same thing — a desk, a project list, and a vague promise of progression. This isn’t that.

At KPA Electrical, you’ll join at a pivotal point in our growth, with a genuine seat at the table and a defined path to Commercial Manager or Director level. We’re not hiring someone to process paperwork — we’re hiring the person who will help build our commercial function.

If you’re a capable Senior QS feeling undervalued, under-supported, or simply ready for more responsibility and recognition, we want to hear from you.

The Company

KPA Electrical Ltd is an established, quality-focused electrical contractor specialising in commercial installations across London. We’ve grown consistently year on year, built long-term relationships with excellent clients, and developed a strong, close-knit team that we’re proud of.

Our work includes Cat A & B office fitouts, hospitals, schools, colleges, industrial warehouses and high-end residential projects. We’re known in the market for doing things properly — and our clients come back because of it.

Our office is based in Rochester — meaning you avoid the cost and stress of a daily London commute, while working on a project portfolio that’s predominantly London-based.

The Role

This is a senior, autonomous position with full commercial ownership of your projects. You’ll work closely with our Project Managers and report directly to senior leadership — with real influence over how the commercial side of the business develops.

Day to day you’ll be:

  • Leading tenders from enquiry through submission and negotiation
  • Managing client applications, variations, change control and final accounts
  • Producing procurement schedules and managing subcontractor packages
  • Carrying out take-offs, reviewing drawings and managing design change (add/omits)
  • Ensuring robust contract compliance and issuing contractual notifications
  • Collaborating with PMs on risk registers and project programme
  • Attending client meetings and managing project correspondence

What We’re Looking For

  • A QS background in electrical or M&E contracting (main contractor experience also considered)
  • Comfortable managing projects end-to-end with confidence
  • Strong communication skills — you’ll be client-facing and representing KPA
  • Someone who takes ownership, works with integrity, and wants to build a long-term career
  • NEC, JCT or bespoke contract experience is a plus

We’re not looking for perfection on paper. We’re looking for the right person. If you’re a QS with strong fundamentals who is ready to step up, we’d rather develop you than hire someone who fits a checklist but doesn’t fit our culture.

What You’ll Get

 Salary £85,000–£90,000 depending on experience
