We are recruiting over Mechanical Fitters for long-term contracts at the Crewe depot.
This is a genuine opportunity to move into the Rail industry – full training will be provided.
You do not need rail experience. You do not need formal qualifications.
If you have at least 18 months’ hands-on mechanical experience using tools in a practical environment, we can train you.
The role involves the mechanical overhaul of rail bogies, including:
Bogie overhaul, damage repair and engineering
Wheelset overhaul and repair
Gearbox and component repairs
Wheel exchanges
Overhaul of sub-assemblies
Heavy mechanical fitting to safety-critical standards
Backgrounds considered include:Automotive, Plant, HGV, Garage mechanics, Marine, Military, Aviation, Assembly, General Engineering or any practical mechanical environment.
