We are looking for Development Consultants to join our team and be part of a growing network of associates.

Development Consultants have one of the most wide‑ranging roles of all City & Guilds Associates, with the possibility of being involved in many different parts of the qualification and assessment development process.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Scoping qualification content – e.g., qualification and unit structures, rules of combinations, assessment design
- Writing unit content
- Drafting assessments and sample assessment materials – e.g., multiple‑choice question papers, knowledge tests, practical assessments, professional discussions, portfolios of evidence
- Reviewing and amending assessments as part of reviewing panels or as a scrutineer
- Reviewing the mapping of content against standards or other qualifications
The person specification outlines the expectations of the role and the experience that we are looking for someone to have as a Development Consultant.
Key Requirements for This Role
Demonstrable, up to date experience within the ICT domain, including hands on knowledge of current practices, the introduction and improvement of services, supporting the change management process, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and professional standards.
You will help to develop materials for designing, building, and managing systems and components across virtualised and cloud environments, as well as monitor system and service performance while meeting security and sustainability requirements. Proven industry background supported by a relevant qualification at or above the level of the apprenticeship standard is required.

As part of your role, you will receive contextualised training for each development that you are involved in, and will be expected to attend online, face‑to‑face meetings as well as taking on some remote activities.
