Overview

The Touch team is developing a next generation investment platform. We want to use technology to improve the way consumers access financial advice and manage their investments. We are seeking developers at all career stages, including those with just over a year of experience or seasoned engineers. We offer Go training for experienced engineers new to the language. We are building a mobile first investment app that lets advisers manage their clients’ investments entirely through their Smartphone.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the full software development lifecycle: requirements gathering with stakeholders, building and testing features, managing deployment, and supporting the service in production.
  • Collaborate as part of a distributed team of self-motivated, collaborative individuals; communicate effectively in remote and async contexts.
  • Iteratively improve a new product while aligning to design and architectural principles.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the product, processes, and practices to reduce friction and waste.
  • Automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment; emphasis on automation.
  • Be willing to work outside of your core specialism and help with tasks in technologies outside your primary focus when needed.

Qualifications

  • Excellent programming and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of software design patterns and paradigms such as OOP, DDD, MVC, microservices, containers/orchestration, or event-driven architecture
  • Ability to create straightforward and well-tested code
  • Ownership mindset with the ability to ask for help when needed to keep work moving
  • Experience with Investment or Pensions platforms would be an advantage

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working: a minimum of 50% time in the office per month, including one day per month in the Bristol office. New joiners may initially work full-time in the office to help them acclimate.
