Working Arrangements

Mon – Fri, 37 hours per week

Contract

Fixed term until 31/03/2027

Your Role

You will work as part of a team to improve public health outcomes for children, young people and families living in the Borough. You will support the development and implementation of strategies and interventions that tackle health inequalities and target those in most need.

You will contribute to the Oral Health Improvement programme, focusing on supervised toothbrushing clubs. You will work with Barnsley Family Hubs, Early Years Settings and primary schools to increase uptake of supervised toothbrushing and deliver training to settings, improving awareness of the importance of good oral health.

You will also support the wider Children and Young People public health teams on other priority areas such as food, healthy weight and teenage pregnancy prevention.

Qualifications & Experience

• A committed, dynamic and flexible individual with a passion for improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people.

• Excellent team working and communication skills, with confidence in delivering key messages to a range of partners.

• Knowledge of the oral health agenda and its links to nutrition and healthy weight is beneficial.

• Innovative and creative approach to work.
