Deputy Head of Compliance and Continuous Improvement

Role Overview
Leidos Europe Ltd is seeking a UK based Deputy Head of Compliance and Continuous Improvement who is a motivated self‑starter capable of working independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. The role supports the Logistics Division in the Ministry of Defence Logistics, Commodities and Services Transformation (LCST) Programme. Reporting to the Head of Compliance and Continuous Improvement, the Deputy Head will oversee a programme team quality function and the audit/assurance programme covering internal, external and supplier audits. They will act as the first point of contact for associated issues. As a key member of the compliance team, the Deputy Head will provide tangible and strategic input while driving a culture of quality and compliance to the next level. The role is hybrid, with expectations to be in office at least twice a week and some travel required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee programme-wide quality processes to ensure compliance and risk mitigation
- Oversee development and self‑inspections of the quality management systems
- Champion continuous improvement, supporting a culture of problem solving and service evolution
- Drive forward critical compliance topics such as ISO and AQAP activity
- Ensure that adequate records are maintained
- Ensure all personnel are trained and aware of compliance and quality requirements
- Deputise for the Head of Compliance in both Customer and Key Sub‑Contractor meetings, where necessary
Skill Required
- Certification in a relevant discipline with experience in an established quality team in an operations environment
- ISO9001 Lead Auditor Qualification
- Experience implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Proven experience working as an auditor alongside development, implementation and maintenance of quality systems
- Credibility at a senior management level with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
- Experience of internal, external and supplier auditing
- People management skills and the ability to develop others
- Willingness to travel UK and overseas
Desirable Skills Required
- Experience working with MOD contracts, policies and procedures including AQAP, Defence Standards and Joint Service Publications
- Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Jira
- Active SC security clearance

The Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST) Programme for the UK Ministry of Defence is a critical effort to enhance and improve the UK’s defence supply chain. The programme provides essential services such as storage and distribution for the MOD’s materiel, including a global freight service and the procurement and inventory management of 70,000 commodity NATO Stock Number (NSNs). Working together as Team Leidos, we are transforming the UK’s defence supply chain by providing an integration of a complex mixture of services, at low risk, using a modern suite of systems that will deliver one version of the truth.
Pay Range
£58,400.00 – £74,900.00
